The Last Cove

In one of the last truly private coves on the west coast of Koh Phangan, The Last Cove is unlike anything else in Southeast Asia — and almost certainly unlike anything else in this portfolio. Seven hand-built bamboo pavilions sit immersed in jungle canopy above a secluded beach, constructed without a single tree felled, from regenerative materials sourced entirely from sustainable Thai forestry. Almost everything here was made by hand. What breaks gets repaired. What cannot be saved gets a new, upcycled life. This is what Zero Waste Village calls luxury — and once you arrive, it is very difficult to argue.
Three waterfront bedroom bungalows — Yoni House, Dragon House, and Glass House — each with their own ensuite bathroom and opening directly to the beach, are arranged around the shared Beach House, a beautiful communal living and kitchen space at the heart of the waterfront. The property sleeps six guests as standard and up to twelve with additional Thai latex beds, set each evening in the traditional Ryokan manner and cleared each morning. Fully solar powered, the village runs on entirely clean energy, while the kitchen produces locally sourced, vegan-leaning menus drawn from the authentic family recipes of islanders the team know personally.
Woven textiles, crafted by elderly Thai artisans, hang throughout the pavilions. Bees, birds, and bats tend the pollinator gardens. Daily beach clean-ups protect the cove. Cooking classes, craft workshops, and a community eco-sharing programme invite guests to participate rather than simply observe. A hillside two-bedroom bungalow is coming soon for those seeking an even more private and luxurious retreat above the treeline.
The Last Cove is for nature lovers only. Arrivals via Koh Samui Airport, then a short boat transfer to Koh Phangan.
