Château de Vignal

Ten kilometres north of Nice and thirty minutes from the airport, on a 45-acre hillside estate at 400 metres above the coast, Château de Vignal is one of the most beautiful and historically distinguished private domains on the entire Côte d'Azur. A square tower dating from the year 1020 stands beside a 14th-century castle that served as a monastery for over four centuries, remaining in the hands of the same family since the county of Nice became part of France in 1860. To stay here is to inhabit a piece of history — one that has been immaculately preserved and brought into the present with exceptional care and taste.
The 850-square-metre château spreads across three elegantly furnished floors, sleeping 16 adults and 2 children across three distinct wings. The main house offers four guest bedrooms including the master suite on the upper floor, alongside a library and fireplace sitting room, with the ground floor arranged around a grand entrance hall, dining room, kitchen, and living room. A dedicated children's floor with four bedrooms and two bathrooms gives younger guests their own world entirely. In the adjacent medieval tower, two further bedrooms share a bathroom and open onto a panoramic rooftop terrace — one of the most memorable spots on the property. The east wing Pavillon adds three further bedrooms and bathrooms for guests who prefer complete independence.
Outside, a travertine marble pool built behind the chapel overlooks the olive groves and the blue foothills of the Alps, shaded by a rare millennium-old strawberry tree. The estate produces its own award-winning olive oil, the kitchen gardens supply many of the ingredients for the château's cooking, and The Hermitage cottage offers a dedicated space for yoga, meditation, and massage.
Château de Vignal is a Côte d'Azur villa rental of rare historic grandeur and natural beauty — a place that rewards every sense, in every season.
