Casanova

On the ancient boundary line between Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana, with Montepulciano visible on the ridge above, Casanova is a 700-square-metre restored podere — a traditional Tuscan farmstead — that has been transformed into one of the most characterful and generously equipped family retreats in central Italy. Great lawns, mature olive groves, and shading oak trees give the grounds a settled, unhurried grandeur, while the property's most extraordinary feature announces itself at every turn: three ancient grain silo towers, recently converted into a dedicated spa offering massages and vinotherapy — the ancient Tuscan practice of wine-based skin and body treatments that the property, with characteristic wit, invites you to look up.
Ten ensuite bedrooms spread across three distinct spaces — six in the main farmhouse, two in the original adjacent guesthouse alongside the 10x5-metre pool, and two more in a brand-new larger guesthouse with its own sauna, Jacuzzi, and hill views — accommodate up to 16 guests across a layout that offers both togetherness and privacy in equal measure. Inside the main house, a vast country kitchen flows into a spacious dining room and living area, while a billiard room and a snug cantina fitted out for wine tastings complete a ground floor kept naturally cool by the ancient stone walls above.
Montepulciano and its celebrated Vino Nobile vineyards are on the doorstep. Pienza, Montalcino, and the heart of Val d'Orcia are within easy reach. Casanova is available from April to November.
